Hello, my name is Tachíria Flamenco and I am the artistic director/principal artist with the company “Tachíria Flamenco’s Dance Music Theatre”. My mother, Carolina Lugo founded the company 25 years ago under the name “Carolina Lugo’s Ballet Flamenco” when I was a kid.
It is with great sadness that I share that her health is failing. We send her immense love.
This also means that the company is being passed on to me. I am honored to carry on the five generations of our gitano family’s flamenco and Spanish dance legacy while also utilizing my background as a professional actor and comedian.
The donations will help the succession of the company continue evolving under my artistic vision of honoring tradition, culture, modernization, experimentation. We have regular weekly shows along with our yearly concert season and other magnificent collaborations with symphonies, operas, various organizations, artists, both nationally and internationally.

Short Bio:
Ms. Tachíria Flamenco, the iconic dancer and choreographer, has been named the “Top flamenco dancer in America” by the So You Think You Can Dance judges, is one of the featured professionals as “Living the Dream,” named a “Flamenco Star” by Sunset Magazine, and is an Isadora Duncan Dance Award elite nominee in individual performance. Ms. Flamenco is also a Meisner trained actor, comedian, singer, artistic director and author. She tours internationally throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, Canada and the Americas with a home base in San Francisco. Tachíria Flamenco was one of the first originally chosen artists by Jennifer Lopez to be in “¡Que Viva! The Chosen”. She is the artistic director of Tachíria Flamenco’s Dance Music Theatre.
